Thomas Kell

Thomas Kell is a consultant and arts producer with a particular interest in African theatre.

Having begun his professional arts management career at Theatre Centre he then served as the Administrative Director of Tiata Fahodzi from 2007 until 2015, working successively with Artistic Directors Femi Elufowoju jr, Lucian Msamati and Natalie Ibu.

He was subsequently a Senior Programme Manager for the British Council delivering the worldwide Shakespeare Lives project (2016-2017) and Consultant – Producing and Finance for Tangle (2016 – 2025) supporting Artistic Director Anna Coombs. Thomas is the Chair of Pursued by a Bear Theatre Company, working with Artistic Director Rosamunde Hutt.

During 2024 he provided production support for Geraldine Pilgrim’s remarkable site-specific piece exploring bereavement and our relationship with cemeteries, Memento Mori (R&D at Highgate Cemetery, London).

As a musician he has accompanied Tayo Aluko for all three of his acclaimed one-man shows and Juwon Ogungbe in recitals and workshops for schools. He has been the Director of Music for the churches of Our Most Holy Redeemer, Exmouth Market and St Mark, Myddelton Square, London EC1 since 2003.
